Admina — AI Agent Governance
Open-source framework for AI agent governance. A transparent proxy governing every interaction between AI agents and external systems, built on 6 pillars: Loop Breaker, Anti-Injection Firewall, PII Redaction, OpenTelemetry Native, Forensic Black Box, and EU AI Act Compliance. Apache 2.0 licensed.
OISG — Open, Intelligent, Secure, Governed
Architectural paradigm for autonomous AI systems grounded in four interdependent pillars: openness of components, measurable and explainable intelligence, resilience against adversarial manipulation, and verifiable governance with immutable evidence. Paper version 1.0 (April 2026), CC BY 4.0 licensed, with mapping onto EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001 and the OWASP Top 10 for Agentic Applications.
Meyer SBS & AI Project
Collaboration with Meyer Children's Hospital (Florence) on AI and digital twin for Short Bowel Syndrome (SBS), a rare paediatric disease. Research activities, co-supervision of degree and specialisation theses, participation in funded research projects and the UNIFI Master's programme on Rare Diseases.
INPECO & SSSA ALA — Advanced Laboratory Automation
Joint R&D project between INPECO Group and the BioRobotics Institute at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa). Development of advanced automation and robotics for clinical laboratories: skin lesion detection via deep learning, integrated multimodal sensing, and full traceability of samples and data. €3.5M investment with a team of 30 researchers.
RI.P.E.G. — Urban Particulate Monitoring
Development of a portable system for real-time measurement of ultrafine particulate matter and main pollutant gases (ozone, carbon monoxide, NOx) in urban areas. Innovative sensors mounted on vehicles and buses for mobile monitoring with data transmission via GPS, UMTS, WiFi and WIMAX. POR FESR 2007-2013 funded project with Alitec, noze and SICE Telecomunicazioni.
MindRACES — Anticipatory Cognitive Systems
Three-year EU FP6 project (IST-511931) with 8 international partners. Research on anticipatory cognitive mechanisms to build systems capable of predicting action outcomes, modelling future events, and controlling perception in anticipatory ways. Over 80 scientific publications and multiple robotic and software demonstrators.
